Manual Lymphatic
Drainage

Gentle, specialized care to support lymphatic flow and reduce swelling.

Experience with Post-Surgical & Injury-Related Swelling

Over the years, I have used Manual Lymphatic Drainage to support clients recovering from a variety of surgeries and injuries. This has included knee replacement, shoulder surgery, plastic surgery, sprained ankles, and other situations involving swelling.

MLD is a very gentle technique. The light, rhythmic movements are specifically designed to encourage lymphatic flow without the deeper pressure used in traditional massage.

What is Manual Lymphatic Drainage?

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a specialized technique that uses gentle, rhythmic movements to encourage the natural flow of lymphatic fluid. It can help reduce swelling and support the body’s lymphatic system.

I am trained in the Dr. Vodder Method of Manual Lymphatic Drainage and Combined Decongestive Therapy (MLD/CDT) and became a Certified Lymphedema Therapist in 2012.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage may be helpful for:

  • Swelling following surgery or injury

  • Post-operative recovery

  • Lymphedema management

  • Swelling after orthopedic procedures, including joint replacement

  • Swelling following plastic or reconstructive surgery

  • Supporting lymphatic flow when swelling is slow to resolve
